What If the Problem Isn’t the Real Problem?
I’ve been reflecting on something recently, and it feels like one of those internal shifts that really hits the spot.
What if the problem you’re trying to solve… isn’t actually the real problem?
When you slow things down and really look at what’s going on beneath the surface, it’s often not the situation itself that’s creating the intensity. It’s the meaning you’ve attached to it. The lens you’re viewing it through and that lens is shaped by your past experiences, your subconscious programming, and the beliefs you’ve formed about yourself along the way.
This is where things can start to feel far heavier than they need to.
Let’s say a message doesn’t come through when you expected it. Someone’s energy feels slightly different. Plans change. On the surface, these are neutral or manageable moments. But when they pass through a filter of “I’m not important”, “I don’t matter”, or “I’m not good enough”, they don’t stay neutral. They expand, distort and feel personal.
Before you know it, you’re no longer responding to what’s actually happening. You’re responding to what you believe it means about you.
This is where fear-based patterns begin to take over.
Your mind starts trying to make sense of the situation. It gathers evidence. It fills in the gaps. It creates a narrative that feels incredibly real, but is often rooted in something much older. Something unresolved and that has very little to do with the present moment you’re in.
This is why the same situation can feel completely different depending on the person experiencing it. One person moves through it with clarity, groundedness, and trust in themselves. Another spirals, overthinks, and feels overwhelmed by it.
Same situation. Completely different internal experience.
From a manifestation and Law of Attraction perspective, this is such an important piece to understand. Because you’re not just responding to life as it is, you’re responding to life through the filter of your internal world. When that filter is shaped by unresolved wounds or subconscious blocks, it can keep you looping in the same patterns again and again.
You’re not reacting to reality. You’re reacting to a version of reality that has been shaped by your past.
This is where your power begins.
Because the moment you pause and ask yourself, what am I making this mean about myself?, you interrupt the pattern. You step out of the automatic response. You create space between you and the story and in that space, something shifts.
You start to see that what’s being activated might not actually be about the situation in front of you. It might be a familiar wound. A belief that was formed at a time when you didn’t have the awareness, the safety, or the tools you have now.
That doesn’t mean the feeling isn’t real. It just means the story attached to it might not be true.
That distinction changes everything.
Because when you can see that clearly, you’re no longer lost in the narrative. You’re able to come back to yourself. To regulate your system. To respond from a place that is grounded, rather than reactive. Often, what felt overwhelming starts to feel manageable again.
You don’t need to prove yourself. You don’t need to overthink your way through it. You don’t need to create a whole identity story around what’s happening.
You just need to see it for what it is.
A moment. A trigger. An opportunity to understand yourself more deeply.
If you’ve been finding yourself caught in overthinking, emotional spirals, or situations that feel bigger than they logically should, this is something worth exploring more deeply.
I go into this in much more detail in the latest episode 146 of The Salarah K Starre Podcast, where I break down how to recognise when you’re caught in the story, how to identify what’s really being activated underneath it, and how to shift your perception so you can move through challenges with more clarity and self-trust.
If you’re ready to stop getting lost in the illusion of the problem and start seeing what’s actually going on beneath it, you can listen to the full episode 146 here.
If you’re feeling like these patterns run deeper and you’re ready to work through them at the root, this is exactly the work I do inside my one-to-one coaching.
You don’t have to keep looping in the same experiences.
You can understand them. You can shift them. You can start experiencing life from a completely different place.
