The Gifts in the Shadow: Why Your Power Lives Where You Least Expect It
When people hear the phrase shadow work, most immediately think of pain, trauma, wounds, and the parts of themselves they’ve spent years trying to outrun. Yes, that’s part of it. Our unhealed patterns, survival responses, and emotional imprints absolutely live in the shadow.
But that’s only half the story.
The shadow is not just where your pain lives.
It’s also where your gifts have been hiding.
Your intuition.
Your creativity.
Your voice.
Your boundaries.
Your depth.
Your fire.
Your power.
So many of the qualities that make you magnetic and impactful were pushed into the shadows early in life, not because they were wrong, but because they didn’t feel safe to express at the time.
This is where manifestation and the law of attraction often get misunderstood.
Why Avoiding the Shadow Blocks Manifestation
You don’t manifest from what you want.
You manifest from what your nervous system feels safe enough to hold.
When parts of you are still carrying unresolved emotional weight, your energy naturally becomes dense, heavy, or contracted - because your system is protecting you. Avoiding the shadow doesn’t keep you positive. It keeps your energy stagnant.
The body remembers everything you haven’t yet had the capacity to feel. Over time, that suppressed energy shows up as anxiety, frustration, burnout, physical symptoms, or repeating emotional loops. No amount of affirmations can override that.
This is why shadow work isn’t optional if you want real, sustainable change. It’s the bridge between survival-based creating and aligned, embodied magnetism.
I go much deeper into this …..

The Shadow Is Where Pain and Potential Sit Side by Side
One of the biggest misconceptions about shadow work is that it’s all dark and heavy. In truth, it’s one of the most liberating and empowering processes you can experience.
When you alchemise the shadow that’s in pain, you release the shadow that’s in its power.
That part of you that learned to shut down, people-please, over-function, or stay small to survive eventually relaxes. When it does, it naturally returns to its original state. Confidence. Creativity. Playfulness. Discernment. Strength. Courage.
Your wounds and your gifts are not separate.
They are two expressions of the same energy.
Three Ways to Go Deeper into Shadow Work
In the episode, I explore three core pathways that help you work with the subconscious in a way that actually creates change.
1. Work with the pattern, not the story
Your subconscious doesn’t speak in language. It speaks in repetition, sensation, and emotional memory. When you follow the pattern beneath the story, rather than analysing the narrative, you get to the real root of what’s running your life.
2. Meet the part of you that is making the decision
Manifestation isn’t about desire alone. It’s about the inner part that is creating the desire. Is it coming from fear and lack, or from wholeness and playfulness? Inner child work and inner parenting are essential here, not to relive the past, but to stop it running the present.
3. Bring the body into the conversation
The subconscious lives in the body. Tightness in the chest, pressure in the throat, shutdown, anxiety, the urge to run or fix. When the body feels safe, the nervous system softens. When the nervous system softens, your vibration expands.
This is where magnetism becomes effortless.
Again, these are explored in much more depth in the episode itself, with real-life examples and practical ways to work with them.
